Job Description
Our Client is a global provider of professional technical and management support services to a broad range of markets, including transportation, facilities, environmental, energy, water and government. Several vacancies exist to become part of a strategic design engineering management team to lead design teams within the high voltage power industry.
The role of the Project Manager is to provide professional services in technical tasks, team development, process improvements and design within substation construction. In this position you will be the key stakeholder in electrical design within projects/innovations, be the high voltage systems leader, and provide electrical guidance with regard site safety systems. You will have responsibility for cost estimates and for controlling project expenditure, have responsibility for continuous improvement and for delivering initiatives and projects on time and to budgets. Critical to the role will be the need to understand the design processes involved in substation design.
The successful applicant will have tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering with a proven ability as a business manager as well as;
• Demonstrated ability and experience in the High voltage power distribution, generation or transmission.
• The role will also call for well-developed oral and written communication skills, good organisational skills, computer literacy including CAD and a team orientation.
• 8+ years experience
• Project management background
• Multi-discipline leadership experience
• Strong substation design background
• Exceptional internal & external communications skills;
• Strong presentation skills providing information clearly to audiences, utilizing appropriate delivery techniques and technology to maximize the effectiveness of the message
• Demonstrated ability to build rapport with internal and external clients to establish a strong professional relationship
• Demonstrated ability to persevere and drive self to meet goals and objectives whilst operating in an ambiguous environment;
• Demonstrated ability to provide innovative alternative working solutions to problems
An MBA or equivalent will be highly regarded.
