Job Description

Facilities Manager - Cleaning Services – Healthcare - Midlands

THE COMPANY AND SITUATION:

A small but successful, up-and-coming and rapidly-expanding supplier of Soft Facilities Management services to the healthcare sector requires an experienced Cleaning Services Manager for a Midlands-based hospital client. Although admittedly a relatively small company in this sphere, prospects here are excellent due to a very prestigious and ever-growing client base.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

The essential experience required for this role is as follows:

• At least 5years experience in Soft Facilities Management specifically in the Healthcare sector
• The majority of your Soft FM experience needs to have been focussed on managing cleaning services
• Knowledge of NHS National Cleaning Standards sufficient to implement them
• Experience of rostering and establishing a cleaning regime to hit contractual standards.
• Experience of delivering services to a margin and budget
• Previous experience in report writing

Please note the above attributes are essential – you require all of the above to be eligible for this role.

Desirable, but not essential, is experience of having managed portering services in healthcare.

THE ROLE:

You will be managing the cleaning, portering and hostess services for a major hospital site and will be required to run the contract such that it hits NHS 2007 cleaning standards on an ongoing basis. There will be close liaison with clients and the requirement for report writing.

THE OPPORTUNITY AND PROSPECTS:

The next step for this person career-wise is to move up into the Contract Manager role. Initially you will be essentially the departmental head for one service, but in moving into the Contract Manager role you would be responsible for all services. You would be “groomed” for the contract management role from day one, as the existing Contract Manager requires someone of the calibre to stand in for him as “acting” Contract Manager during periods of absence.

There are other vacancies cropping up in the organisation consistently, so for the person who proves themselves in this role, there will be other opportunities elsewhere in addition.
