Job Description
Both permanent and contracting arrangements will be considered.
Responsibilities:
1. To provide professional ICT procurement and commercial management services to government organisations across Central and Local Government
2. To lead negotiation of commercial terms with strategic suppliers across ICT category including but not limited to Infrastructure, Software Licensing, Telecommunications and Professional Services
3. Liaise with key stakeholders within government organisations on a wide range of commercial and procurement issues, ensuring promotion of ‘best practice’.
Key skills and abilities:
1. Must have experience of managing multi-million multi-service ICT procurement projects or commercial contracts
2. Must be able to negotiate effectively and have proven experience of negotiating with both strategic suppliers and stakeholders
3. Must be able to communicate effectively and correspond clearly and articulately
4. Must have a strong and proven background in procurement with thorough understanding of government procurement practice, inclusive of government and EU law, principals and initiatives
5. A sound understanding of most if not all the following categories; telecommunications, software licensing, infrastructure and professional services
6. Must either posses or be willing to work towards CIPS
